Put Your Mind at Ease by Knowing the Tax Refund ScheduleMany of us tend to get worked up over our tax refunds because we rely on them to keep our budgets straight and maybe get a few extra things for around the house or pay off some bills we have been struggling to all year if the money is tight. The nice thing about the way that the federal IRS is handling things these days is that you can actually get a pretty good idea of when you can expect your refund so long as you remember which way you filed your taxes. Those who have sent their tax return in on a paper form through the US Postal Service are the ones who will have to wait the longest, particularly if they have chosen to have a check mailed to them. When you go this route, you need to wait a full four to six weeks before you can check the status of your return and that can get a little bit stressful. Then you need to wait additional time to have your check mailed to you, but it should arrive by the time stated on the official IRS website in either their refund schedule section or if you want a more interactive approach, you can verify the check's arrival by using their "Where's My Refund?" tool provided on the site.If you want to be able to get that refund in your bank account as soon as possible then all you need to do is check the tax refund schedule the IRS offers and you will see that those who file their taxes online are going to be able to not only check the status of their return a lot sooner, but they will also have that return processed more quickly because the IRS does not have to do as much work to process it. This means that instead of waiting for weeks, the people who choose the efile method only have to wait a few days. That alone is a huge reduction in time spent worrying, but if you want things to go even quicker then make sure you select the direct deposit option. You will need a valid bank account in your name, but you can also have that deposit split up to be put into savings and checking accounts if you like. There's no doubt about it, when it comes to refunds, filing on the web and choosing the electronic deposit is going to give you that refund faster than any other way. |
